It hit home for me. for much of my early life I was absolutely convince the world worked that way.
(well not that way specifically, but I was convinced for many many years that every time I left a room, everyone in it bacame skeletons and froze in place. They only moved and had flesh when I was in their presence. Some mysterious and undefined force moved them around when I was not there.)
