I'm one of those people that had an amazing, immediate quality of life change. Sure, it's embarrassing to bring up when you're looking for a con roommate, but consider the alternative.
The only reason I didn't get one earlier: I'd been scheduled for a sleep study, then my (first) husband suddenly died. The last I'd seen of him was on a respirator, so it just seemed too creepy. I'd probably not have had a problem if I'd started on the CPAP beforehand.
I can't imagine sleeping without mine now. Mine's got 10,000 hours on it.
