No, no huge increase in storage or bandwidth this time.

A new account, teaser 25% discount rate, that lasts for a full *year*.

No discount for me, I already have a Developer account.

Blatant advertising plug. All the links to 1 and 1, include my affiliate link, so that if you use the link and purchase an account, I get a commission. Thanks.

1 and 1 as linked in the main post.

I don't use 90% of functions they provide.

What I do use is 4-6 GB worth of photo storage and spiky bandwidth.

I also host 3 other sites, besides my own.

For a single person wanting their own domain, email and some web space, the $3 or $5 a month accounts should be more then suffient.

Okay, I looked again and still didn't see it. Their FAQ notes they are not an internet service provider, though, which is what I'm looking for.

At your home, how do you get to the 'net? For my mom's place I had dsl through an independent company using SBC (now AT&T) lines, but now I want other options. Well, not dial-up.

Sorry, ISP vs hosting...

We use Comcast cable modem service, into a basic wireless router (talk me or your other geeky friends about making it secure first) to share the connection between multiple systems. It has issues, but is mostly stable.

Speakeasy gets high marks from lots of folks.

I have friends who are complaining bitterly that their DSL now sucks after the merger of SBC & ATT

Thanks for the suggestions, especially Speakeasy. The dsl I have at my place (AT&T) is actually okay for now, but I'm not a heavy user. Since mom's place (which will be used even less than mine) is available to get another service since we quit what we had, I'm lookin'.
