Looks like our rep just got royally fucked.
Disturbing images of what *OUR* "boys and girls" are accused of doing.
Was not the the 2nd answer to "Why we invaded Iraq?", to stop this sort of thing from happening.

yeah, even i'm disturbed.
Date: 2004-04-29 05:09 pm (UTC)but why did i not think that people -WOULD-.
educated people who have had shoes and vaccinations and public education and clean water and who haven't had to sacrifice their..hm.. inner civilization due to lack of outer civilization, but.. there they are, on film.
-distracted suddenly non-sequitor: i propose a FURTHER edit above, there's no 'accused of doing', there is Caught On Film Showing Off Doing.
to anyone, have seen a couple comments, who is surprised that the US armed forces personnel are doing this (shock horror) - well.. shit fire jessie, do you suppose our PhD's and those endowed with higher education, peace activists and lovers-of-humanity are saying to themselves "Hm, sign up for the armed forces, get paid crap and go where they tell me, possibly shoot people, yeeeaah.. sounds like a great deal!"
no, rhetorical question answered, they're not. the poor, the scrappy, the 'gonna use this as a stepping stone', the need a break, the screwed up everything else, and the 'can't seem to land a job' are going to join (nothing wrong with needing a stepping stone, says the former soldiers wife and sister of a coast-guarder), but frankly, those who are inclined to sign away their lives to join A FIGHTING FORCE, knowing they may someday be involved in action.. you're just not going to get the 'cream of society' in the armed forces.
i'm still more 'shouldn't happen at all' than 'can't happen here', though, truth be told. why are people such SHITS?
