@%$#^ Traffic and Weather

About 3:45 my boss came around telling all the long haul commuters to go home now while something resembling daylight was left. Reports from early outs was that weather and traffic were horrid.

My commute is normally 1hour.

I left at 4pm, I reached Dublin (my half way mark) at 5pm. Pouring rain, slow traffic, everybody was cool.

I took a break, wandering the Best Buy, but not getting anything (sound of relief from [livejournal.com profile] chriso).

Depart Dublin at 5:30pm, rain has stopped.

However, the time delayed "Instant Asshole, just add water" kicked in. Drivers were total asses on the way home.

I got home at 6:30pm.

Sigh.

It's winter. Doesn't that mean that it rains every day in the San Fran area? At least that's what my folks found out when they lived out there for a year.

Also, my mom said it was the most interesting occurance: everyone was so nice....until it started raining. Then everyone seemed to become totally irritable and a bunch of assholes. She said people warned her, but she didn't belive it until she experienced it.

in theory yes, in practice ... *sigh* it's an El Nino year, everything is rougher, harder and more.

We've had flooding, hail and _snow_.
