Lesbian couple can adopt same last name, justices say

Why they even needed to take this to their state supreme court in the first place...

COLUMBUS, OHIO

Lesbian couple can adopt same last name, justices say

The two mothers of baby Sarah Rylen now can share her last name - the one
the lesbian couple created using letters from their separate surnames and
the one lower courts wouldn't allow them to adopt.

The Ohio Supreme Court said in a 6-1 ruling that the Hamilton couple must be
allowed to change their names because they followed all required procedures
and their intent was not fraudulent.

They had to take it to the supreme court because Southwest Ohio is the weirdest mix of conservative elected officals and liberal constituants.

I went to college approximately 20 minutes from Hamilton, OH. While it is a very conservative area, there are incredibly large groups of gays, lesbians, transexuals, transvestites, and people who don't fit into any specific category. I was lucky enough to have a good professor who was friends with people in many of these groups. Otherwise, I might have gone through college thinking I was going to school in the straightest section of the country.

So why can't any liberal people get elected? Because the liberals are too spread out. They live in Oxford, Hamilton, Cincinnati, and even northern Kentucky. So, unfortunately, the conservatives get the upper hand when it comes to elections.
