There are only five weeks left until some kids (and me) go back to school. Time goes by so fast when you're having fun. Oh, and Worldcon is in three weeks.
And I just got back from buying said school supplies! It's a guess, though, as I won't get the actual supply list until about mid-August, when all the sales are over. I stock up on the basics (glue, pencils, erasers, crayons), then go get anything I didn't expect.
Yep. Sigh ... We just got the start-of-school paperwork from Katie's school (Abby's is year round, sort of ...). Also a tuition contract (give me a break). Waiting with bated breath to see who our teacher assignment is. Thus far, we've batted zero-for-three on teacher requests, but the one we didn't request is the one Katie has a crush on (oh my, my 8-year old has a crush, ack!), so she'd be pleased ...

However, it just depresses me that I have to go back to school with a pay cut, no prep, and a budget mess still yanking school money away from us.
