Boy I hate to admit this....

...but I really really like something that Microsoft has created.

No feature bloat, easy to use and fast....

Windows Movie Maker.

For the Dolphin videos I was able to rip the video off the DVD-R we bought.
Then edit them down to just our rides & Titan showing off.
It took me under 30 minutes to create and export.

I just created a video from a series of pics and even layered in a sound track in under 10 minutes. I'll link once it's uploaded to Flickr, YouTube and Facebook.

For years I've been trying different video editing programs and found them difficult to learn and operate. Then they would take forever to render the video file. As I learned doing these to video clips, WMM is easy and fast.

That sounds fabulous. I'll have to check it out!

We used it all the time at Sony, benchmarking it against the glacially slow Sony bundled software. As you say, it's easy and friendly and gets the job done in a reasonable time. When you're ready to step up to something which has actual features, consider Ulead Video Studio. Unfortunately it isn't free.
