The morning was lots of review for me, I still learned lots.

Afternoon session is going to be more technical. Starting with a Q&A session that is not being taken up with basic/"how do I ... on my camera" questions.

John,

I've got the Nikon D40X and can't figure out how to set the self-timer and the manual doesn't help because when I did what it suggested, it still didn't work. Would you be willing to help me during Loscon? That is, if you're coming?

We are coming and I'm willing to look at it.

Bring both the camera and it's manual. Because I'm sure it works differently then any of the 3 Nikons I've owned.

Ha ha, I signed up for one in Boston area in mid-1993, then decided to move to CA by the end of the year so I switched the class to Berkeley at the end of the year. First time I was in the Marina area. It was a good class.

I bet sections 1 & 3 have not changed in 15 years and 2 & 4 in 5-8 years.

Basics of photographer (iso, aperture & shutter, depth of field, etc) and creativity in your photography.

Sections 2 & 4, were how digital photography works (sensors, sizes, sensitivity v iso, etc) and digital work flow/basic fixes.
