My Baycon schedule....

Light year for me panel wise, but considering I never submitted my name this year for consideration to be on panels, it's more then I expected.

5/25/07 17:30
Stockton / Connect 4
Party On, Dudes!

Do you want to go to a party? Are you having a party? Come check out the listing of all the parties, and meet some of the organizers ...

I'm the moderator of myself, since no one else is yet listed as being on the panel.

5/26/07 14:30
Stockton / Connect 4
Fannish Grapevine

Did you hear it through the grapevine? Do you have any idea how efficient the fannish grapevine is? Our fan panelists discuss the twists and turns the grapevine can take, and give examples.

with Bobbie DuFault (M), Christian McGuire, John O'Halloran & Colleen Savitzky.

5/26/07 20:00
Masquerade
Fan Photo

Once again I'll be working with Richard Man setting up and running the Fan Photo area.

will you be doing a LJ birds of a feather this year?

I've never contacted Baycon about one this year.

One of these days I'll work up the logistics to give photography panels at cons. Perfect excuse to travel and play :-)

Getting on Panels

What's this about applying to be on panels? With other fannish cons I've been to the concom chooses prospective panelists on the basis of reputation or whatever, and then invites them.

a few years ago I created a "fannish resume" along with a list of subjects that I feel qualified to talk about on a panel.

I send it to the programming dept 4-6 months in advance of a convention that I know I'll be attending and want to do panels for.

Hey when you're moderating that panel -- keep an eye on yourself -- you know how out of control you can get :} :}.

I could rant and rave all I want!

[identity profile] gridlore.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
If you'd like, I could sit in on the party panel.

I would welcome you.

Though we'd both be representing the "quiet talking party" style.

[livejournal.com profile] bovil and I have been encouraged to sit in on the party panel, but aren't on the official list because We Were Not To Be Put On Any Panels Until After The Masqerade. :-)

So one of us can probably join in, if you like.

The would be great.

Balance out my "quiet talking party" style with your more outgoing style.

Always wondered how one gets onto a panel without being World Famous™.
