Many phones allow you to send email, which you can use to post to LJ.
This short cuts that process by allowing you to use a short name to send to. ie: txtlj or really 89855
In addition to being just another posting gateway, they have tied it to the new notification system and you can send several different commands.
ie: You meet a c/u/t/e/ /y/o/u/n/g/ /t/h/i/n/g/ interesting intelegent person at con and find out they have a LJ, instead of writing down a person's id, trying to remember this person was then vainly searching for them on LJ, you can just send:
MENU Return a list of common commands POST (subject) body Post an entry POSTCOMM.commname (subject) body Post to a community ADD username Add a user to your friends list HELP natch. STOP turn off TxtLJ
Just added it to my system. Test posted nicely within moments. Now I just need to find someone new to add as a friend to test that part. There will soon be more parties and cons.
