(no subject)

Even after sleeping on it, I have no words to describe how I feel about Leigh Ann's passing.

Memories of her performing, talks, parties and cons keep flashing through my mind, in a incoherent jumble.

We can take some comfort in the knowledge that it was quick and that she died doing something she loved.

It seems trite, but one thing I keep coming back to, is that I haven't seen Leigh Ann in over a year,
I've been meaning to at least drop her a email asking "How's it going?" but never got around to it.

Edit to add the notification email:

Leigh Ann was in an automobile/motorcycle crash in Livermore, which she did not survive. She was merging onto 580 and there was a disagreement with a vehicle; details unknown about that.

She was probably returning from geocaching.

We don't have any more details about what and when and so on yet.

Please do NOT call Caitlin and Elton. You can send email to them at nitnorth at nithaus.org, but they don't want to see or talk to anyone except as they contact us for a while.

Please do not call Colin or any of her family until Elton has a chance to reach them.))

*hugs* It's hard to look at a "might have been" and make yourself resigned to it. From what you posted, it *was* quick and there is little better than getting to live as you wish before you die.

*hugs* again, babe.

I ran into her at PantheaCon, almost literally. Came round a corner and there she was. She and I were born same day, within minutes of each other, so she always introduced me as her Astrological Twin. She was there when I went to my first Solstice ritual, and was one of the people whose opinion I listened to about the OTO, which helped me choose later to join it.

I will miss her a lot!

Yeah. Me, too. :(

Just to say that I'm very, very sorry about the death of your friend.

I did not know her, but from what I have read she sounded like an amazing woman and her spirit will live on with everyone she has met.

I'm sorry.

I heard her perform at the Pagan Pride fund raiser and loved her voice.

A few more details

Sad, but it sounds like she barely had time to say 'oh shit'

I don't think I slept much, and her music was going through my head all night long.

One of the things I was going to miss about BayCon this year was saying "Hi" to her, seeing her laugh, and her probably wearing her Utilikilt. :p

She had such a memorable voice. Sooooo many memories, including the Rock 'n Roll Ritual at Pantheacon years ago (where a bunch of our friends danced the Elements), Ria's wedding...

We weren't close enough for emailing, but certainly would snag a chance to converse at cons.

her probably wearing her Utilikilt

{sigh}

In one of my unprocessed photo folders are shots of a Annwn gig where she was wearing her Utilikilt, including a posed one holding her violin.

I was supposed to send it to her, so she could enter the Utilikilt Gallery contest.

Shite. I only just found out. (And I was listening to the "Anarchy and Rapture" CD when I opened your announcement; still listening to it, in fact.)

Jimmy Dean -- too young, but doing what she loved best and living her life the way she wanted. There's no good way to die, but there are plenty worse ways than that.
