This didn’t surprise me. Microsoft’s profit margins require a monopoly lock on the market; thus, they’re stuck with being predatory evil bastards. The moment they stop being predatory evil bastards, their stock price will tank and their options pyramid will crash and it will be all over.

Exactly. Even if Bill Gates and everyone under him were a genuinely good person who is kind to small animals and software developers (which may for all I know be true), the corporate demon must be demonic in order to survive. We have created artificial life already, and it wants to eat us. (messes up hair and dons patent pending X-ray glasses obtained from back of comic in 1962) You fools! Can't you see! They're here already!!! You're next!!!!!

I worked for Microsoft for many years and resigned a wealthy idiot. I still live in Redmond (lovely town) and many of my friends still work there.

All I can say is two things:

1. Eric is just as much a fucktard as those on the other side of the issue. They are two sides of the same coin, each as rabid and myopic as the other. I have no time for either of them.

2. Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by sheer stupidity. Or pigheadedness. Again, this goes for both sides.
