Hi, Johno, Mud just started Livejournaling, largely in response to reading the latest Potter - Half Blood Prince aka HBP. I'm glad to see you and other filkers here; I'm hoping to keep up with everyone's news here, too.
We picked HBP up at midnight plus ten minutes at Keplers bookstore in Menlo Park, after a bemused perusal of their "Hogwarts Classes" and the PACKED wall to wall people crowd - really, hundreds of insane fans, kids and adults. A pretty neat zoo.
We read the whole thing out loud to each other over the next two days. I, too, loved that Dumbledore reads knitting patterns!
I'm on my second reading now. I've given up on Livejournal groups about the book. The only good post I've seen (and there are spoilers there, by the way) is by garlandgraves.
SPOILER: sort of - I talk around it, really.
I'm sure, of course, that what Snape did was decided after a Legilimens contact with Dumbledore, and that Harry is still The Boy Who Just Doesn't Quite Get It Yet About Snape. My favorite part of the book is the talk between Dumbledore and Harry where Dumbledore finally makes it clear to Harry that choice exists, and that love is the best choice.
Trob and Mud did too...
