They have a list of deleted accounts older then 30 days which they recently purged and made avail for new accounts or use for renames.

Thanks for the heads-up on the permanent account sale. Something tells me that I'm their core permanent account market even if I don't do a ton of pics or icons...

Same here. I've had a perm account for over 2 years and have worked my way up to some 40 odd icons, most of which go unused.

As for pics...

I've got my own site for that and for quicky posts, picasa and blogger are faster and easier.

Was it you that mentioned before that they weren't going to release renamed accounts? I went to look at my old one and it says it's deleted and purged, but when I try to register it it says it's taken. Confusing.

It probably sounds weird but I truly hope they don't delete eck. It's my ex who killed himself and somehow I just want his account to stay here. Mind you, I totally understand that it is reasonable to delete it but...

They're only purging deleted accounts. If it's merely unused, it won't be touched.
