As time passes, he's finding that some of his collection is just collecting dust.

So he's sharing it with his (rich) fans.

He has been accused of doing it for profit and responded by bitching about how he prefers to keep his charitable contributions more private. He won't get specific about which group or groups will benefit, but as far as Joe will go in admitting it, he has said he's not keeping the cash from this.

I respect his decision to do it that way. I suspect he'd respect mine to not bid if I don't know who would be the beneficiary of my money.

If, for example, I were to later find out that he was giving money to a church, I would be upset.

But that's the beauty of a free market. We're both free to do as we wish. Would be nice to have the book, though...
