Costume-Con 23 - Historical Competition posted

http://johno.ohalloran.org/gallery/cc23

Finished digitally processing the Historical Competition images tonight!

Then I noticed I had created the web files incorrectly, making them much too large. (Q100 for the jpg geeks.)

So I had to redo them, reupload them, recreate the albums, ...

I made the same error with the SPC & FFF albums, so sometime this weekend I need to redo them too.

Which probably means I will not get the pictures Charles' Belly Dance or the Misc stuff done till next week.

Mind if I make some suggestions?

Watch where the auto focus sensor is focusing. I see some pics where the focus point is on the body rather than on the face, or preferably the eyes. You have less control using auto focus but play with it.

Check the flash manual to read on "fill flash." Turn the flash way down to -2/3 to -1 2/3. You may then avoid the flash shadow.

Either that or get 50/1.8 lens and shoot at ASA 800. The D70 sensor is pretty clean. It's harder to do but you will notice the lighting difference and the texture.

FWIW

Oh hellfire and damnation, I missed it. Well, it's true I have no interest in costuming, but it would have been fun to see you again. And I always enjoy watching Charles dance; the transformation still amazes me. And then, I hear Cheryl is dying. Was she there?
