Earning Bad Parking Karma
May. 6th, 2004 11:27 pmThey park incorrectly, they pay the price.
I used to drive a very small car, very beat up car.
Lots of people park 1-2 feet over the line.
My car still fit.
I would often park right next to their car door. Sometimes with almost NO space between the cars.
I didn't care if they scratched or scraped it. *They* cared about scratching or scraping their cars though.

Once, in a snooty crowded little town of no parking, the likes of which I have only ever seen in California, some construction project had caused a big dumpster to sit in one-and-a-third parking spaces in priiiiiiime territory along the main street. They tried to line it up in just one, but it was simply too long. I noticed the remaining area and said to may passenger "Oh look! Two-thirds of a parking space! Fortunately I have two-thirds of a car." Parallel parked in the little spot, got out, and smiled at my good fortune.
