Yet another addiction has arrived

For our Holiday present to ourselves, we purchased a Play Station 2 yesterday.

Our justification was the exercise we'll get playing Dance Dance Revolution, but the 3 hours we played other games last night just flew by.

Tonight we start exploring the wonderful world of online gaming.

What is the going price for PS2 now? Rusty accidentilly broke our PS1, so we have a ton of games, but no system, and I guess it would make more sense now to buy a PS2 than another PS1 (if we even could find one to buy).

$180 for a base unit, one controler, no games.

$200 for online bundle, one controler, internet connection, ATV online race game.

These 2 are the "standard" packages available most places.

We picked up the Fry's special package.
$200 Online pack + 2 free games.

In game stores I've seen them for $120-150 used.

They are still in stock many places.

Just remember to come up for air occasionally. :)

Do yourself a DDR favor and buy the Red Octane "Ignition" pads. They've got foam cores and support the players better. They also help the pads last longer. :)

We purchased a "professional dance pad" to go with it. It comes with a 1" foam cushion under the control pad.

I really prefer the Ignition Pad. Every single product I've gotten from Red Octane has been a step above the other, "brand name" pad or products... Their QC motto is "made by DDR freaks FOR DDR freaks," and it shows. :)

Let me know how your pad holds up, I don't have any ignition pads, yet, and if yours holds up well, I might be able to convince myself to comparison shop. :)

How much was your pad, if you don't mind my asking?
