I voted at 9am and there was a line.

All voting machines in use.

I have some minor quibbles with the voting User Interface, but it is far and away much better then the old punch blocks or NO.2 pencil in the block formats.

On the negative side, one of my COWorkers doesn't vote cause "My voice doesn’t matter and all it does it get you on the jury roster."

{sigh}

I hit my polling place at about 1015 and there was a short line. The poll workers said they had been surprised at the turnout. Part of it was the ungodly size of the San Francisco ballot.. four double-sided pages.

I voted for the ferret guy as a protest vote. Since I had a choice of two weasels for Governor, why not make sure the Lt. Gov is concerned about the little furry bastards?

I voted around 1:30. No line when I arrived, but there were three people waiting when I left. (Still, I don't see why they bother having four machines for our tiny ward.)

The PTA bake sale was kind of sparse -- either they got picked over by the 8 am crowd, or they were really undersupplied.

Most jury's are selected from a combination of two lists:

- Voter Registration
- Driver's License/State ID

I voted at about 7:20 AM. There wasn't a line, but there were people in all the precincts' voting booths and I was the 12th person to file my ballot in my own.

My boss, who is black, was pleased to see I'd voted. We had a good chat about previously unenfranchised group members and our extra obligation to get to the polls and commiserated about how so many of any group treat it like a waste of time.

[livejournal.com profile] jemstone & I voted at about 10am. We were also met by a short line. [livejournal.com profile] jemstone also heard one of the pollsters comment on being surprised about the turn out.
