A reason I like LJ...
Brad and the designers of LJ made a very good choice when they called them communities.
We don't hang out on boards or lists or groups, but in communities. That implies something much different and much more, then the other words used for online communication.
Personally I'm finding LJ to be a much "softer" place to be, but also deeper. Yeah, there are lots of light weight communities, just for fun (like NP2), but there seems to be something much more then "SYT" going on, even there.
