Hmmm, off by a few, 22 moves.

*Thus ending 10 years of continuous occupation of the apartment. Among other things, we found a "brown" stain on the carpet. In a _Odd Couple_ moment, we realize that's the original carpet color.

Good Grief, John. You've moved *almost* half as many times as I've been alive! I've moved 9 times since the day I was born and I'm 46. My father was in the USAF also, but we weren't moved around. Got lucky in that area I guess.

I'm about to make my 10th and last move..... until my kids stick me in an Daycare for Old Farts Home. =P

We both lived in Detroit 1964-1969.
(OK, I admit I actually lived in Grosse Pointe.)

You were born 27 days before me.

I moved to California 1 year before you did.

I think I've been watching 45% too many sports programs.

One of the things that cinched the deal for our house, was my commenting that we were looking for the house to our home for rest of our lives. Not to be rolled over in the market in 6 month, 3 years or even 7, but our house for 20-30 years.

Since getting married 26 yrs. ago, I've moved twice. We're about to move for the last time. Downsizing. Both kids are gone now so there's no reason for us to have such a large home. Time to get rid of stairs - ma and pa can't handle stairs no mo! We need one level.

So hopefully this will be our last move.

Woomera? In SA? Long as you were nowhere near the detention centre them that's ok :) Seriously though, did you enjoy your stay in Australia? I'm always curious to see what other countries (well, at least people from other countries) think of us.

I was rather shocked to find out reciently that it was being used a dention center. The environment there is very harsh.

When I was in Woomera there was:

ELDO - Europeon Launch Development Orginazation
Doing mosting test stuff, no major lauches.
RAAR & RAAFR - Royal Australian Army & Air Force Reserves
shooting up the donga for practice.
JDC - Joint Defence Communications
Where I worked (and that's all I can say)
The Village - The living and support area to the above.
No one there except a few fans thought anything
odd about calling it "The Village."

I loved Australia, I even considered emigrating after my posting there. We took a 3 week tour in 1999, after the World and saw many parts of Australia that didn't get to see when I was posted there and were able to visit bits that I really wanted to show [livejournal.com profile] chriso.

Aussies are great folks (not counting the Yabos) and while many freedoms are not codified, they are accepted and the government doesn't dare take them away (except those damned internet censorship laws).
