TAIKO Performance Notification!
May. 8th, 2007 11:32 amWe* (Wadaiko Newark) are performing at the 14th Asian American Heritage Festival, Union City.
Where:
Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church, 32975 Alvarado Niles Road, Union City. Sat. May 12th.
What:
Music and dances, cultural displays, food booths, auction etc. www.aafc-ca.org, and of course Taiko performances!
The website (http://aafc-ca.org/festival.html) says:
"Come visit the fourteenth annual Asian-American Heritage Festival. The program includes stage performances of ethnic dance, music, songs, and martial arts. Enjoy ethnic foods. Shop for unique ethnic items at the various merchandise booths. Peruse the interesting cultural displays representing the diversified cultures of Asia. Over 2,000 people are expected to attend."
I don't see anything about an entrance fee. :)
Time:
Our group is performing two sets. The organizers really like us and want to showcase us (they wanted us to split our songs over 3 sets, but we persuaded them that moving the drums on and offstage 3X was a bit much.) Our first performance is ~2:30PM for about 25 minutes, then 45 minutes later or so we will do our second set (different songs.) The festival itself is from 11AM to 5PM.
