Many folks I know attended many many concerts when they were teens/twentysomethings, but as they grew older, they stopped going to concerts.

I seem to the be the reverse. I attended very few concerts as a teenager/twentysomething. Now that I'm older, I attend more concerts in a single season then I did in total during my youth.

Take this year:

Prince, The Coors, David Byrne, Prince (yes, twice), Olivia Newton-John, Richard Thompson, Christine Lavin, and The Bobs.

And I'm not counting multiple times we see Avalon Rising, Brazen Hussy, Tempest or the bands at Lupin.

8 major concerts. Yes, I was a lame teen. :}

I think I am getting cheaper the older I get. I would rather buy the CDs than spend $80 for a ticket. Also, early on there were some bands I just had to see. I don't see many concerts out there now that I just have to see. I bet if I was in a bigger town I would like going to see music at smaller clubs more. I always liked that, but we basically get the arena type concerts now.
